Do I Need a Business Website to Sign Up for Stripe?
Last updated at: Aug 28, 2025If you’re setting up your TixFox account, you’ll need to connect Stripe in order to process ticket payments. During Stripe’s account activation, you’ll be asked to provide details about your business—including a website, social media profile, or mobile application.
Here’s what Stripe requires:
You must provide a URL where your business, event, or services are promoted. This can be:
Your official business website
A social media profile (such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn)
A mobile application
⚠️ Important: If you’re using a social media profile, you’ll need to provide the full URL (for example: facebook.com/yourbusinesspage
) rather than just a username or handle.
What if you don’t have a website or social media page?
If you don’t promote your events or services online, Stripe will ask you to provide a written description of what you sell. This helps Stripe verify the type of business you’re running.
Extra Note on Social Media Profiles:
If your social media profile doesn’t include all the necessary business details due to character limits or other restrictions, you can link to another page where that information is easily accessible.
Why This Matters for TixFox Users
Since all payments on TixFox are handled through Stripe, you’ll need to complete this verification step before selling tickets. Whether you’re running events through a business website, social media page, or just starting out with a description of your services, Stripe provides a path to get verified and start collecting payments.
