Updated October 2026: rewritten with Billetto's current UK and Irish fees, checked against its pricing pages on October 8, 2026.
Billetto is free for organisers. Its booking fee, 3.99% + £0.90 per ticket in the UK, is normally paid by the ticket buyer, and it's quoted before VAT. You don't pay a monthly fee or a setup cost.
So the question isn't what Billetto costs you. It's what it costs your audience, and when the money reaches you. Here's the math on both, and where TixFox comes in lower.
How much does Billetto charge? Billetto charges 3.99% + £0.90 per ticket in the UK, or 3.99% + €0.90 in Ireland, excluding VAT. The ticket buyer pays it by default, and you can choose to absorb it instead. There's no monthly or setup fee, and Billetto pays your ticket revenue 3 to 5 working days after your event ends.
How Billetto's pricing works
Billetto's pricing page has two plans:
- Essential, for up to 1,000 tickets a year: the buyer pays 3.99% + £0.90 per ticket
- Growth, for 1,000+ tickets a year: 3.99% + £0.90 per ticket "or less," with custom pricing, prepayment and a dedicated contact
- Prices exclude VAT, with no monthly fee and no setup cost on either plan
Billetto's FAQ says most organisers pass the fee on to buyers, but you can absorb it and show an all-in price instead. The page doesn't list a separate card processing fee. In the UK, buyers can pay with Visa or Mastercard. In Ireland, PayPal is an option too.
What your buyers pay
TixFox charges £0.38 per ticket (£0.30 under £5) plus Stripe's 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards. With the fees passed on, the buyer covers both, and you receive the full ticket price. Billetto's fee below is shown before VAT, which flatters it.
For a one-ticket order:
- £10 ticket: £1.30 on Billetto, before VAT, and £0.74 on TixFox
- £20 ticket: £1.70 against £0.89
- £30 ticket: £2.10 against £1.05
- £50 ticket: £2.90 against £1.35
- £100 ticket: £4.89 against £2.11
TixFox's fees come in lower at every ticket price. Billetto's 90p alone is more than TixFox's 38p plus Stripe's 20p, and its 3.99% is more than Stripe's 1.5%.
In Ireland, it's the same story. Billetto charges 3.99% + €0.90 before VAT. TixFox charges €0.39 (€0.30 under €5) plus Stripe's 1.5% + €0.25. A €20 ticket carries €1.70 in Billetto fees and €0.95 on TixFox.
A season of tickets
A comedy club selling 1,000 tickets a year at £12, one per order, would see its audience pay £1,380 in Billetto fees before VAT. On TixFox, they'd pay £770.
When you get paid
Billetto's FAQ says it pays out your ticket revenue 3 to 5 working days after your event ends, and your bank may take a few more days. Prepayment, getting money before the event, is listed as a Growth plan feature, for organisers selling 1,000+ tickets a year.
On TixFox, each sale goes into your own Stripe account as it happens, and TixFox never holds the money, whether you sell 50 tickets a year or 50,000.
What one organizer says about TixFox
Fees aren't the only thing that matters once tickets go on sale. The Modesto Gospel Mission left this review on Trustpilot in August 2026: "TixFox is a great platform for managing and selling event tickets. It's easy to use, and their customer support is excellent - very responsive, helpful, and quick to resolve issues."

When Billetto is the better choice
Billetto's biggest selling point isn't its fee. It's its audience. It may fit better if:
- You want your event listed on a ticket marketplace. Billetto says it has 3.8 million users across 14 European markets.
- You want pay-per-sale advertising, where you pay only when a ticket sells. Billetto says it generates an average of 21.6% more ticket sales for organisers.
- You need seating charts now. TixFox's reserved seating is coming soon.
- You want to phone a real person, Monday to Friday during UK office hours.
- You sell across Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. Billetto operates in 14 countries, from Denmark and Norway to Spain and Italy.
When TixFox costs less
- Every UK and Irish ticket price: on a £20 ticket, buyers pay £0.89 on TixFox and £1.70 plus VAT on Billetto.
- Money as you sell, at any size, instead of 3 to 5 working days after the event.
We've done the same math for TicketSource, Ticket Tailor and Weezevent, which also sell in pounds.
To try TixFox, create a free account, connect Stripe and put your first event on sale. Free events cost nothing, and paid tickets are £0.38 or €0.39 each (less on cheap tickets), plus Stripe's card processing. See TixFox pricing.
