Ticket Tailor Fees in 2026: What You'll Pay per Ticket

Updated October 2026: rewritten with Ticket Tailor's current US prices, checked against its pricing page and help center on October 8, 2026.

Ticket Tailor has two prices, and which one you pay depends on whether you hand over money before you sell a single ticket.

Sell 300 tickets this year without prepaying and Ticket Tailor's fees come to $250.75. Buy a 300-credit pack up front and you'll pay $192. On TixFox, the same 300 tickets cost $117 in platform fees, with nothing to buy in advance. Card processing is extra on both.

Here are Ticket Tailor's US prices from its own fee calculator, and the cases where it's the cheaper pick.

How much does Ticket Tailor charge? In the US, Ticket Tailor charges $0.85 per paid ticket on pay as you go, or between $0.70 and $0.34 per ticket if you prepay for credits in packs of 100 to 20,000. Free tickets cost nothing, up to 5,000 a year. Card processing through Stripe, PayPal or Square is charged separately.

How Ticket Tailor's pricing works

Ticket Tailor doesn't charge a monthly subscription. It charges for each paid ticket you sell, in one of two ways.

Pay as you go. You pay $0.85 for every paid ticket. If you take payments through Stripe, Ticket Tailor takes its fee automatically at the point of sale. With PayPal or Square, it bills your card instead: once a month, after every 50 units of use (usually 50 tickets), or two days after your last event ends, whichever comes first.

Prepaid credits. You buy credits before you sell. One credit covers one paid ticket (two if the seat comes from a seating chart), the smallest pack is 100 credits, and the more you buy at once, the less each one costs. Credits don't expire. If they run out mid-sale, Ticket Tailor switches you to pay as you go until you buy more.

A few more rules from its pricing page and help center:

  • Your first 5 tickets are free. The standard rate starts with the sixth.
  • Free tickets cost nothing up to 5,000 a year. Above that, Ticket Tailor charges a small fee per free ticket and asks you to contact support for a quote.
  • Tickets under $5 can count as half a ticket, but you have to apply for that discount on your Billing page.
  • Ticket Tailor's prices don't include tax. Its help center says VAT and sales tax "are charged where applicable."

Ticket Tailor's credit prices in US dollars

In US dollars, Ticket Tailor's fee calculator gives these prices per credit:

Bar chart of Ticket Tailor's US fee per paid ticket: $0.85 pay as you go, $0.70 with 100 credits, $0.60 with 500, $0.52 with 1,000, $0.43 with 5,000, $0.39 with 10,000 and $0.34 with 20,000 or more, against TixFox's flat $0.39 with nothing to prepay
  • Pay as you go: $0.85 per ticket
  • 100 credits: $0.70 each ($70)
  • 500 credits: $0.60 each ($300)
  • 1,000 credits: $0.52 each ($520)
  • 5,000 credits: $0.43 each ($2,150)
  • 10,000 credits: $0.39 each ($3,900)
  • 20,000 credits or more: $0.34 each ($6,800 for 20,000)

The headline on the same page says credits start "from $0.30" a ticket, which is lower than any pack its calculator shows.

For comparison, TixFox charges $0.39 per paid ticket ($0.30 for tickets under $5), with no packs and nothing to buy in advance. Ticket Tailor's credits only drop below that at 12,000 credits, where they cost $0.38 each.

What one ticket costs once card processing is added

Neither Ticket Tailor nor TixFox processes the card payment itself. Ticket Tailor connects to your Stripe, PayPal or Square account. TixFox connects to your Stripe account. If you use Stripe on both, you pay Stripe the same 2.9% + 30¢ on a US card, so the platform fee is the difference.

Here's one ticket, bought on its own, with you absorbing the fees. Eventbrite is there as a reference point.

Fees on a one-ticket order with card processing included. $10 ticket: Ticket Tailor pay as you go $1.44, Ticket Tailor 500 credits $1.19, TixFox $0.98, Eventbrite $2.45. $25 ticket: $1.88, $1.63, $1.42 and $3.45. $50 ticket: $2.60, $2.35, $2.14 and $5.09

On a $25 ticket:

  • Ticket Tailor, pay as you go: $0.85 + $1.03 Stripe = $1.88
  • Ticket Tailor, 500-credit pack: $0.60 + $1.03 Stripe = $1.63
  • TixFox: $0.39 + $1.03 Stripe = $1.42
  • Eventbrite: $2.72 service fee + $0.73 processing = $3.45

Against Eventbrite's 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket plus 2.9% processing, both Ticket Tailor and TixFox cost less in these examples, and the gap grows with the ticket price. Between the two of them, the difference is fixed: 46 cents a ticket against pay as you go, 21 cents against a 500-credit pack.

Stripe's 30¢ is charged per order, not per ticket, so a buyer who orders four tickets at once pays it once. That's true on both platforms.

When do Ticket Tailor's credits pay off?

Ticket Tailor gets cheaper when you prepay. The catch is volume. Here are the platform fees alone, assuming you buy one credit pack that covers the whole year:

Platform fees over a year. 300 tickets: TixFox $117, Ticket Tailor credits $192, pay as you go $250.75. 1,000 tickets: $390, $520, $845.75. 5,000 tickets: $1,950, $2,150, $4,245.75. 10,000 tickets: $3,900, $3,900, $8,495.75. 20,000 tickets: $7,800, $6,800, $16,995.75

For tickets of $5 or more, TixFox costs less than any Ticket Tailor pack below 10,000 tickets a year. At 10,000 they tie at $3,900. From 12,000 credits up, Ticket Tailor's prepaid price drops to $0.38 and below, so a big organizer who can commit to that volume pays less with Ticket Tailor. At 20,000 tickets, the difference is $1,000 a year in Ticket Tailor's favor.

The table flatters prepaying a little, because it assumes you guess your volume right and pay for it in January. A festival that buys 5,000 credits and sells 3,000 tickets has spent $2,150 to sell tickets TixFox would have charged $1,170 for. Unused credits aren't lost, since they never expire, but that money is tied up in credits instead of sitting in your bank account until next season.

If you're a registered charity

Ticket Tailor gives registered charities 50% off its fees. Applied to its US prices, that changes the math:

  • Pay as you go drops to about $0.43 a ticket, still a little above TixFox's $0.39.
  • A 100-credit pack drops to $0.35 a credit, and 1,000 credits to $0.26.

So a registered charity that can prepay for its tickets will usually pay less on Ticket Tailor. Ticket Tailor also mentions discounts for B Corps, PTAs and not-for-profits, without listing the amounts.

The costs that aren't per ticket

A few other charges to know about:

  • Reserved seating: a paid ticket sold from a seating chart uses 2 credits instead of 1. On pay as you go, that's $1.70 a seated ticket. A free seated ticket uses 1 credit.
  • White label: removing Ticket Tailor's logo from your checkout costs $49 a month and includes a custom domain.
  • Custom domain on its own: $8 a month.
  • Marketing integrations: connecting HubSpot, ActiveCampaign or Constant Contact has a monthly fee, shown in your account.
  • Text reminders: buyers can opt in for a fee you set. Ticket Tailor charges $0.10 per event in the order, and you keep the rest.
  • Refund protection: buyers can add it for 8% of the ticket price, and you keep 10% of that fee.
  • Refunds: if you refund a ticket, Ticket Tailor doesn't give back its fee or the credit. TixFox works the same way: its platform fee isn't refundable once a ticket is sold. Our guide to writing an event refund policy covers what that means for your terms.

Passing the fees on to your buyers

On both platforms, you can pass the fees to the buyer instead of absorbing them.

Ticket Tailor lets you "add any booking fee you like to the ticket price," so you set an amount that covers its fee and the processing. On TixFox, each ticket type has a Handle Fees setting with two options, pass the fees to the buyer or absorb them, and the Pricing Summary shows what the buyer will pay before you save:

TixFox Create Ticket Type: the Pricing Summary for a $25 ticket shows a TixFox fee of $0.39, payment processing of $1.07 and Buyer Will Pay $26.46, next to the Handle Fees menu with Pass fee to the buyer and Absorb fee

With fees passed on, a $25 ticket costs the buyer $26.46 and you receive $25. Ticketing fee control explains both options, and our guide to selling tickets with Stripe breaks down a real order.

Ticket Tailor vs TixFox beyond the fee

Beyond price, check these:

  • Where the money goes: the same on both. Ticket sales land in your own payment account, and neither platform holds your money.
  • Payment processors: Ticket Tailor works with Stripe, PayPal and Square. TixFox works with Stripe only.
  • Reserved seating: Ticket Tailor has seating charts today. TixFox sells general admission tickets, and reserved seating is coming soon.
  • Selling at the door: TixFox's Tap to Pay takes card payments at the door on an iPhone or Android phone, and the ticket appears in the check-in app. Both platforms have a free check-in app for scanning tickets.
  • What else you can sell: Ticket Tailor sells memberships, season passes and gift cards, and runs time-slot events. TixFox has add-ons, recurring events, buy-X-get-Y deals, pay-what-you-can tickets and donations at checkout.
  • Branding: Ticket Tailor charges $49 a month to remove its logo. TixFox lets you set your own colors, fonts and branding on the event page.
  • Languages and currencies: Ticket Tailor's checkout comes in 19 languages. TixFox sells in 18 currencies, including US, Canadian and Australian dollars, pounds and euros.

What one organizer says about TixFox

Fast answers matter too, especially in the week before a show. A reviewer named Jo wrote this on Trustpilot in August 2026: "John was spectacular about answering all of my questions."

When Ticket Tailor is the better choice

Ticket Tailor makes more sense if:

  • You need reserved seating now, for a theater, a gala dinner or anything with assigned seats.
  • You want to take payments through PayPal or Square.
  • You're a registered charity that can prepay for credits.
  • You sell 12,000 or more tickets a year and can commit to that volume up front.
  • You sell memberships, season passes or gift cards alongside tickets.

When TixFox costs less

TixFox fits general admission events paid through Stripe, from a few hundred to a few thousand tickets a year:

  • The fee is lower at every volume under 10,000 tickets a year, for tickets of $5 or more: $0.39 a ticket, against $0.40 to $0.85 on Ticket Tailor. Registered charities that prepay are the exception.
  • Nothing is paid up front. You don't have to guess your season's sales and buy credits to get the lower price.
  • Cheap tickets cost less automatically. Tickets under $5 are $0.30 on TixFox, with nothing to apply for. Ticket Tailor halves its fee on tickets under $5 if you apply, which can come out lower on a large credit pack.
  • For walk-up sales, Tap to Pay works on a phone.
