TicketLeap Fees in 2026: What Buyers Pay, When You're Paid

Updated October 2026: rewritten with TicketLeap's current fees and payout terms, checked against its pricing page on October 8, 2026.

TicketLeap is free for organizers as long as buyers pay the fees. Those fees come in three parts: $1 per ticket, 2% of the ticket price, and a 3% online transaction fee on the order. On a $25 ticket, that's $2.30 at checkout.

A renaissance faire organizer comparing platforms on Reddit put it plainly: "I don't like the $1 +2% then an addition 3% fee for credit cards." The same organizer wanted "deposits into our account prior to the event," which is the other thing to know about TicketLeap. It pays you after the event.

Below is the math on TicketLeap's fees, the prices where it beats TixFox, and when your money arrives.

How much does TicketLeap charge? TicketLeap charges $1 + 2% of the ticket price per ticket, plus a 3% online transaction fee on each order. Tickets of $5 and under pay a flat $0.49 plus the 3%. The per-ticket fee is capped at $20. Free events are free, and payouts arrive 4 to 7 business days after your event ends.

How TicketLeap's pricing works

TicketLeap lists these fees on its pricing page:

  • $1 + 2% of the ticket price per paid ticket
  • 3% online transaction fee on each order, which covers card processing
  • $0.49 flat on tickets of $5 and under, plus the 3%
  • A $20 cap on the per-ticket fee for expensive tickets. The 3% has no cap.
  • Free events cost nothing, even if you never sell a paid ticket
  • No subscriptions or contracts

You can let your buyers pay the fees, and TicketLeap describes the platform as free for you when they do. If you absorb them instead, they come out of your ticket sales.

When buyers pay, TicketLeap's calculator charges the 3% on the ticket price plus its own fee. Note: the page says 3%, but the calculator code uses 3.09%, and TicketLeap notes the transaction fee "may be $.01 or more higher due to rounding." We used the published 3% below, which slightly favors TicketLeap.

What your buyer pays at each price

TixFox charges $0.39 per ticket ($0.30 under $5) plus Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ per order. With fees passed on, you receive the full ticket price on both platforms, so compare what the buyer pays on top.

What a buyer pays on top of the ticket, one-ticket order. $10 ticket: TicketLeap $1.54, TixFox $1.01. $25 ticket: $2.30 and $1.46. $50 ticket: $3.56 and $2.20. $100 ticket: $6.09 and $3.70

For a one-ticket order:

  • $10 ticket: $11.54 on TicketLeap, $11.01 on TixFox
  • $25 ticket: $27.30 on TicketLeap, $26.46 on TixFox
  • $50 ticket: $53.56 on TicketLeap, $52.20 on TixFox
  • $100 ticket: $106.09 on TicketLeap, $103.70 on TixFox
  • $250 ticket: $263.68 on TicketLeap, $258.18 on TixFox

If you absorb the fees instead, you keep $22.75 of a $25 ticket on TicketLeap and $23.58 on TixFox. On a $100 ticket, it's $94.00 against $96.41.

Where TicketLeap is cheaper

On tickets of $5 and under, TicketLeap's flat $0.49 makes it the cheaper option for single-ticket orders.

Fees on low-priced tickets, buyer pays. $4 ticket: TicketLeap $0.62, TixFox $0.74. $5 ticket: $0.65 and $0.86. $6 ticket: $1.33 and $0.89. $10 ticket: $1.54 and $1.01

A $5 ticket costs the buyer $5.65 on TicketLeap and $5.86 on TixFox. At $6, the flat rate ends, TicketLeap's fee jumps to $1 + 2%, and TixFox becomes cheaper from there up.

Group orders change the picture even at $5, because TicketLeap's fee is per ticket and Stripe's 30¢ is per order. Two $5 tickets in one order carry $1.31 in fees on TicketLeap and $1.41 on TixFox. Four of them carry $2.62 on TicketLeap and $2.51 on TixFox. So if most of your tickets are $5 or less and people buy one at a time, TicketLeap is cheaper.

When you get paid

Payout timing may matter more than the fee. TicketLeap pays you "4-7 business days after your event ends," and says it waits to make sure transactions are authenticated and secure. It also has a risk manager who helps fight chargebacks. That may help with disputes, but the ticket money may arrive after many of your event's bills are due.

When you get paid: TicketLeap pays 4 to 7 business days after the event ends, TixFox sales go into your Stripe account as you sell. 1,000 tickets at $20 for a renaissance faire with fees paid by buyers: TicketLeap $2,040, TixFox $1,310

On TixFox, each sale goes straight into your own Stripe account, and TixFox never holds the money. In the US, Stripe makes card payments available for payout after about 2 business days and pays them to your bank on your schedule. That can help with deposits and other bills you pay before the event. Our guide to selling tickets with Stripe has the timing.

At a full event, the gap grows. A renaissance faire selling 1,000 tickets at $20 would put $2,040 of fees on its patrons at TicketLeap and $1,310 on TixFox, counting each ticket as its own order. Families buying several tickets at once lower the TixFox total further, since Stripe's 30¢ is charged once per order.

What one organizer says about TixFox

A low fee only helps if the platform keeps up with your event. Sydney Finley wrote on Trustpilot in August 2026 that TixFox is "very responsive to adding new features" and has "been a great addition to our event."

When TicketLeap is the better choice

  • Most of your tickets cost $5 or less and people buy them one at a time.
  • You sell at the door and take cash or checks, which skip the 3% fee in TicketLeap's box office app.
  • You need TicketLeap's event seating tools now. TixFox's reserved seating is coming soon.
  • You'd rather TicketLeap hold the money until after the event while it helps fight chargebacks.

When TixFox costs less

  • Tickets from $6 up: buyers pay less at every price, from 53 cents on a $10 ticket to $5.50 on a $250 one.
  • Money before the event: sales go into your Stripe account as they happen.
  • Group orders: Stripe's 30¢ applies once per order, while TicketLeap's per-ticket fee applies to every ticket.
  • More currencies: TixFox supports 18. TicketLeap says it supports the standard currencies for the United States, Canada and Australia.

If you're weighing a switch, here's what switching from TicketLeap to TixFox looks like. We've done the same math for TicketSpice and Ticket Tailor.

To try TixFox, create a free account, connect Stripe and put your first event on sale. Free events cost $0, and paid tickets are 39¢ each ($0.30 under $5) plus Stripe's card processing. See TixFox pricing.
