TryBooking Fees in 2026: Australia, NZ and UK Compared

Updated October 2026: rewritten with TryBooking's current fees for Australia, New Zealand and the UK, checked against its pricing pages on October 8, 2026.

TryBooking's fees are low. In Australia it charges 50 cents a ticket plus 2.5%, with GST and card processing included, and free events cost nothing. On a A$20 school concert ticket, it costs less than TixFox, and we'll show you the math.

The headline fee isn't the whole story, though. TryBooking pays you after your event unless you connect your own Stripe account, which costs more in Australia and New Zealand. And on bigger tickets, family orders and UK events, the numbers change. Here's where each one wins.

How much does TryBooking charge? In Australia, TryBooking charges $0.50 per ticket plus 2.5% processing, GST included, or $0.15 plus 2.5% on tickets under $5. New Zealand is $0.50 plus 2.5%. In the UK it's 20p per ticket plus 5%, VAT included. Free events are free, and TryBooking pays out after the event unless you connect your own Stripe account.

How TryBooking's pricing works

TryBooking publishes prices for three countries. Its Australian pricing page lists:

  • Paid tickets: $0.50 per ticket plus 2.5% processing
  • Tickets under $5: $0.15 per ticket plus 2.5%
  • Free tickets: no fees at all
  • No subscriptions, setup fees or lock-in contracts. All fees include GST and card processing.

In New Zealand, it's $0.50 per ticket plus 2.5%, GST included. In the UK, you pick one of two options: 20p per ticket plus 5% when TryBooking handles payments, or 75p per ticket plus Stripe's own fees when you connect your Stripe account. TryBooking's fees include VAT on both, and Stripe's fees are extra on the second.

You can absorb the fees or pass them to buyers (in the UK, on the option where TryBooking handles payments). On its Australian FAQ, TryBooking says most organisers pass on the ticket fee and absorb the processing fee.

TryBooking vs TixFox by country, one ticket per order, fees absorbed. Australia: TryBooking 50c + 2.5%, TixFox A$0.64 + Stripe, TryBooking costs less under A$52 and TixFox above. New Zealand: TryBooking costs less. UK: TixFox costs less above £10.86. US: TryBooking publishes no US pricing. Paid out: TryBooking after the event, TixFox as you sell

What a ticket costs in Australia

TixFox charges A$0.64 per ticket plus Stripe's 1.65% + A$0.30 per order for Australian cards. TryBooking's fees include GST. TixFox's pricing page lists A$0.64 without saying whether GST is included, so we used that figure as listed.

Australia, fees on one ticket with card processing included. A$20 ticket: TryBooking $1.00, TixFox $1.27. A$30: $1.25 and $1.44. A$50: $1.75 and $1.77. A$75: $2.38 and $2.18. A$100: $3.00 and $2.59

On a one-ticket order, with you absorbing the fees:

  • A$20 ticket: $1.00 on TryBooking, $1.27 on TixFox
  • A$30 ticket: $1.25 against $1.44
  • A$50 ticket: $1.75 against $1.77
  • A$75 ticket: $2.38 against $2.18
  • A$100 ticket: $3.00 against $2.59

The two meet at about A$52 a ticket. Below that, TryBooking costs less. Above it, TixFox does, and the gap grows with the price. On 2,000 tickets a year at A$60, TryBooking's fees come to $4,000 and TixFox's to $3,860.

Family orders move the line. Stripe's 30 cents is charged once per order, so on an order of four tickets, TixFox costs less from about A$25 a ticket. Four A$30 tickets cost $5.00 in TryBooking fees and $4.84 on TixFox.

On cheap tickets, TryBooking is hard to beat. Its 15-cent rate under $5 is built for sausage sizzles, raffles and market stalls, in its own words.

New Zealand: TryBooking costs less

In New Zealand, TryBooking's 50 cents plus 2.5% beats TixFox's NZ$0.85 per ticket plus Stripe's 2.65% + NZ$0.30 at every ticket price. A NZ$30 ticket costs $1.25 on TryBooking and $1.95 on TixFox. If you sell in New Zealand and you're happy to be paid after the event, TryBooking is the cheaper choice.

The UK: two ways to pay

TryBooking's UK pricing works differently. With TryBooking handling payments, you pay 20p plus 5% per ticket. TixFox charges £0.38 per ticket plus Stripe's 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards.

  • £10 ticket: 70p on TryBooking, 73p on TixFox
  • £20 ticket: £1.20 against 88p
  • £50 ticket: £2.70 against £1.33
  • £100 ticket: £5.20 against £2.08

TixFox costs less on any ticket over about £10.86. On a season of 1,000 tickets at £20, TryBooking's fees come to £1,200 and TixFox's to £880.

When you get paid

TryBooking's FAQ is clear: "Funds are transferred to your nominated bank account after your event." In Australia and New Zealand you can schedule those payouts at no extra cost, but the ticket money still waits until the event is over. That's a long wait if you have a venue deposit or a sound hire to pay first.

To get your money as you sell, TryBooking lets you connect your own Stripe account. In Australia and New Zealand, it then charges 1% plus 50 cents per ticket, with Stripe's own fee on top. In the UK, it's 75p per ticket plus Stripe's fee.

TryBooking's Stripe option vs TixFox, both paid into your own Stripe account. Australia, A$30 ticket: TryBooking plus Stripe $1.60, TixFox $1.44, TixFox lower above A$14. UK, £30 ticket: TryBooking plus Stripe £1.40, TixFox £1.03, TixFox 37p lower on every ticket

Against that option, TixFox costs less on any ticket over A$14 in Australia and NZ$35 in New Zealand, and 37p less on every UK ticket. On TixFox, each sale goes into your own Stripe account as it happens, and TixFox never holds the money. Our guide to selling tickets with Stripe has the payout timing.

Selling in the US?

TryBooking publishes pricing for Australia, New Zealand and the UK only. Its US pricing address returns a "page not found." TixFox sells in 18 currencies, and in US dollars it charges 39¢ per ticket ($0.30 under $5) plus Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢.

What one organizer says about TixFox

Fees aren't the only thing that matters once tickets go on sale. The Modesto Gospel Mission left this review on Trustpilot in August 2026: "TixFox is a great platform for managing and selling event tickets. It's easy to use, and their customer support is excellent - very responsive, helpful, and quick to resolve issues."

When TryBooking is the better choice

  • Most of your tickets cost under about A$52 in Australia, especially school, club and community events.
  • You sell in New Zealand and are happy to be paid after the event. On its standard option, TryBooking costs less at every price.
  • You sell lots of tickets under A$5 in Australia, where its 15-cent rate is very low.
  • You need reserved seating now. TryBooking lists custom seating plans. TixFox's reserved seating is coming soon.
  • You want TryBooking's Australian-based support team, by phone or email, and don't mind being paid after the event.

When TixFox costs less

  • Bigger tickets in Australia: above about A$52 for single tickets, and about A$25 for families buying four.
  • UK events: any ticket over about £10.86, and 37p less per ticket than TryBooking's Stripe option.
  • Money before the event: compared with TryBooking's Stripe option, TixFox costs less on tickets over A$14 in Australia and NZ$35 in New Zealand.
  • The US and beyond: TixFox sells in 18 currencies, including US dollars.

We've done the same math for Humanitix, which also sells in Australia and New Zealand, and for Ticket Tailor.

To try TixFox, create a free account, connect Stripe and put your first event on sale. Free events cost $0, and paid tickets are A$0.64, NZ$0.85, £0.38 or 39¢ each, plus Stripe's card processing. See TixFox pricing.
