Updated October 2026. Fees checked against Humanitix's pricing pages and help center on October 8, 2026.
Humanitix gives all of its profits to charity, and it says it has donated more than $13.8 million so far. That's a good reason to like it. It isn't the same as being cheap.
In the US, a $25 ticket costs your buyer $27.54 on Humanitix and $26.46 on TixFox, card processing included on both. Here are Humanitix's fees in the five countries it lists, what they add up to on real orders, when it pays you, and the cases where it's cheaper.
How much does Humanitix charge? In the US, Humanitix charges 2.1% + $0.99 per paid ticket, plus 2.9% + $0.30 card processing, which it sums up as 5% + $1.29 per ticket plus sales tax. Charities and schools pay 3.9% + $1.29. Free events are free, and buyers pay the fees by default.
How Humanitix's pricing works
Humanitix says it has no sign-up fees and no contracts. It charges a booking fee on every paid item, and its help center spells out the rules:
- Per item, not per order. Tickets, add-ons and donations each carry the fee.
- On the face value, including any tax on the ticket.
- Buyers pay by default. The fee is added at checkout. You can absorb it instead, and then it comes out of your payout.
- Free tickets are free, and so are manual orders and cash orders at the box office.
On Humanitix's own payment gateway, the booking fee covers card processing. That gateway works for events in US, Australian and New Zealand dollars and British pounds. Events in other currencies have to use Stripe, and Humanitix recommends connecting Stripe if you want your money before the event. With Stripe connected, Stripe's processing is charged on top.
Here are the rates from its US pricing page:
- Standard: 2.1% + $0.99 per paid ticket, plus 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing
- Charities and schools: 1% + $0.99 per paid ticket, plus the same processing
- Free events: nothing
Humanitix's FAQ combines those into 5% + $1.29 per ticket (3.9% + $1.29 for charities and schools), plus sales tax.
What a US buyer pays
TixFox charges $0.39 per ticket plus Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ per order. When you pass the fees on, the checkout works out the processing so you still receive the full ticket price, the same as on Humanitix.
For a one-ticket order, before sales tax:
- $10 ticket: $11.79 on Humanitix, $11.68 at the charity rate, $11.01 on TixFox
- $25 ticket: $27.54 on Humanitix, $27.27 at the charity rate, $26.46 on TixFox
- $50 ticket: $53.79 on Humanitix, $53.24 at the charity rate, $52.20 on TixFox
- $100 ticket: $106.29 on Humanitix, $105.19 at the charity rate, $103.70 on TixFox
A big part of the gap is the fixed $1.29 Humanitix adds to every ticket. TixFox's fixed part is 39 cents a ticket plus 30 cents an order.
Where the per-ticket fee adds up
Because Humanitix charges its fixed fee on every ticket, the gap gets bigger on group orders.
A family buying four $25 tickets in one order pays $10.16 in fees on Humanitix and $4.90 on TixFox. On TixFox, Stripe's 30 cents is charged once for the whole order.
The charity and school rate helps, but in the US it doesn't close the gap. A school selling 200 tickets at $25 puts $454 of fees on families at Humanitix's charity rate. On TixFox the same sale comes to $292, counting every ticket as its own order. Families who buy several at once bring that down further.
Donations work differently too. Humanitix charges its booking fee on donations at checkout. TixFox doesn't take its fee from donations at checkout.
Humanitix fees outside the US
Humanitix's rates change by country. In Australia, New Zealand and the UK, the rate already includes card processing. In Canada, events run on Stripe, so Stripe's card fees come on top.
The rates behind that table:
- Australia: 4% + A$0.99 per paid ticket (charities and schools 2.5% + A$0.50), before GST
- New Zealand: 5% + NZ$0.49 (charities and schools 3% + NZ$0.30), before GST
- United Kingdom: 4.67% + £0.46 (charities and schools 3.33% + £0.25), before VAT
- Canada: 2.1% + CA$0.99 (charities and schools 1% + CA$0.99), plus Stripe's card fees
TixFox charges A$0.64, NZ$0.85, £0.38 and CA$0.56 per ticket in those currencies, plus Stripe's card fee for that country.
That table is for a ticket priced at 25. The winner depends on the country, the rate and the ticket price, so here's where the lines cross for a single ticket, before tax:
- United States and Canada: TixFox costs less at every price, against either Humanitix rate.
- Australia: TixFox costs less at every price against the standard rate. The charity and school rate is lower than TixFox up to about A$52.
- United Kingdom: TixFox costs less on any ticket over about £1.40 against the standard rate, and from about £18 against the charity and school rate.
- New Zealand: Humanitix's standard rate is lower up to about NZ$28, and its charity and school rate up to about NZ$243.
New Zealand is the closest call:
Below about NZ$28, Humanitix costs less in New Zealand. Above it, TixFox does, and the gap grows as the price goes up.
When you get paid
On Humanitix's own gateway, your money arrives after the event. Its help center says ticket sales are paid into your bank account "within 5 business days after your event has ended." You can ask for an early payout, but every request needs approval, and Humanitix says it doesn't recommend taking the money before the event. For flexible access to your money, it recommends connecting Stripe before your tickets go on sale, and Stripe's processing is then charged on top of the booking fee.
On TixFox, every sale goes straight into your own Stripe account, and TixFox never holds your money. Stripe pays it out to your bank on its normal schedule. Our guide to selling tickets with Stripe has the payout timing.
What Humanitix does well
Humanitix can still be the right pick if one of these matters to you:
- All profits go to charity. If your audience cares about that, it may outweigh the extra fee.
- Reserved seating. Humanitix has it now. TixFox's is coming soon.
- Buy now, pay later. Buyers can pay with Afterpay or Zip.
- Extras built in: gift cards, a waitlist, resale through Tixel, and Mailchimp and Salesforce integrations.
- A low charity rate in Australia and New Zealand, lower than TixFox below about A$52 in Australia and about NZ$243 in New Zealand.
What one organizer says about TixFox
Fees aren't the only thing that matters once tickets go on sale. The Modesto Gospel Mission left this review on Trustpilot in August 2026: "TixFox is a great platform for managing and selling event tickets. It's easy to use, and their customer support is excellent - very responsive, helpful, and quick to resolve issues."
